CLOSE TO NATURE – REGIONAL – SUSTAINABLE

The architecture makes use of natural materials. Wood and stone are the main actors of the design and form a unity with the surrounding landscape. Other natural materials such as clay, wool and glass are determinants of the overall design. The wood used comes from the valley. Built in traditional wooden construction and covered with typical local “shingles”, the forest chalets live up to their name.

Tradition, naturalness and spirit of renewal characterize the architectural image of the farm. The Integration into the surrounding landscape and the new purpose of the farmstead determine the design.

Efficient energy use and the resulting living comfort play a decisive role in the implementation of the new farmstead.

Competition and project with willeit architecture

The concept of the nature park administration foresees the creation of distinctive buildings with recognition value at individual strategically important locations in the “Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage” area. This includes the Kreuzberg Pass, which at 1,636m above sea level is the easternmost gateway to the nature park and an important starting point for numerous hiking tours and other leisure activities in the mountains.
