House Barbian
The semi-detached house is situated on a small and very narrow plot. The height difference of the terrain is two and a half stories between the entrance area with the garage and the natural terrain at the back of the building. That is why the house develops upwards in mezzanines. A glazed recess illuminates the centrally located stairwell and provides access to the individual levels.
Also above the staircase, a large horizontal window provides natural lighting from above. Only the rooms and bathrooms are separated with doors, the rest is a single public space with different functions and living spaces on each level. Thus, the house gets a strong reference to the outdoor space with views and small open spaces.
